Do not wait until the last minute to complete your required education.

I recommend the required education should be completed at least 48 hours in advance of your expiration date. (March 31 or September 30) Check the face of your license to see your expiration date. This will allow the school enough time to report your course completion to the Department of Business and Regulation. This renewal period ends on Tuesday September 30, 2008. Saturday and Sunday are not business days. If you wait until the last minute to complete your education, the school may not have enough time to send the report of your completion to The Department of Business and Regulation before your expiration date to assure that your license will continue to be in good standing.

COMPLETING AND PASSING ALONE DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARDS SET BY THE STATE. THE SCHOOL MUST GIVE NOTICE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL REGULATION THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR REQUIRED EDUCATION BEFORE YOUR EXPIRATION DATE.   

Real estate license renewal information: All course providers are required to report your education completion to the department within 30-days of completion, or prior to the expiration date, whichever occurs first.
